DVR Server Installation Guide
Before you assemble a DVR system using our Hardware MPEG4 DVR cards, please ensure that you have the right hardware requirements in place to avoid installation problems.
To build a 4 ch Linux PC-based DVR, please prepare the following PC requirements:
- CPU: Celeron 2.6GHz or higher
- RAM: 512MB or higher
- Motherboard: ABIT LG-95, AsRock 775V88+, ASUS P5LD2, ASUS P5P800-S, ASUS P5PE-VM, ASUS P5VD2, ASUS P4VBX-MX, ASUS Mega mPC945, ECS ELITEGROUP 915GL-M9, ECS P4VMM2, Gigabyte 848P, Gigabyte GA-81848p775-G, Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G, Gigabyte GA819 45GMF, MSI P965 NEO, MSI PM8M3-V or MSI PM8M3-VH or other recommeded boards
- VGA: GeForce2 MX400, GeForce4 MX4000, GeForce FX5200, GeForce 6500, GeForce 6600, GeForce FX5500 or other recommended cards

- NOTE: Pls. ensure that the motherboard and CPU you intend to use are compatible.
- DVR Server versions with Object Detection or any of our Intelligent Video Monitoring and Analysis solutions require HT (Hyper-Threading) or Dual-Core processing capability.
To build an 8 ch Linux PC-based DVR, please prepare the following PC requirements:
- CPU: Pentium 4 2.4GHz or higher
- RAM: 512MB or higher

NOTES:
Currently, Neugent's H/W MPEG-4 DVR cards support NVIDIA graphics card models 7300 and below in AGP or PCI-E format.
You can only combine 2 x 4ch, 2 x 8ch or 2 x 16ch. For instance, combine two 4 ch DVR cards to build one 8 ch DVR system.
Installation Guide for Hybrid PC-based DVR Series:
To build a 16 ch Hybrid PC-based DVR, please prepare the following PC requirements:
- CPU: Pentium 4 2.8GHz or higher (such as processor with HT or Dual Core)
- RAM: 512MB or higher
